Collection

Choose a relatively narrow scholarly topic that is interesting to you. Identify a collection of 25 items that includes, at least, books, articles, films, and audio materials. You must find the records for these and examine how their subject is described in the record. Gather these terms together and create a taxonomic structure for them. The deliverables are:

* A project proposal describing the topic area, a list of 5 sample items, and how you will present the project (website, etc.) by October 20. Please note that people do not make good topics so I will not approve a person. If you are interested in a person - choose some topic that relates to them instead. For instance, if I were interested in Charles Dickens, I would choose Victorian literature as my topic.

* A website, wiki, or paper document that shows the items that you selected and their records.

* A taxonomic structure of the subject terms found in the records. 1)

* An explanation of why you created that structure.

1) I would like to change this word to thesaurus. I want to understand how subtopics work together. There will be a heirarchical structure to them. Think of making a diagram (concept map) of the topic like the ones I showed in class on 9/29.
