Week Eleven: Closure

Hannah Hiles | 1 April 2016 | Durham NC

This is my last month with AUX.

That's a little startling to think about – in a lot of ways, I feel like I've only just started here. There's no way I can be almost done! But I've committed almost four months of work to this department, to these libraries, and to this university. They're four months that I've very much enjoyed – and will likely miss more than I can imagine.

I was able to publish my first report for the AUX department this week, something which I have really been looking forward to doing. The report covers the usability test that my site supervisor and I completed last week on the library's Ask a Librarian webpage.

The report itself is pretty straightforward – I've created some recommendations for our WebX 1) team, I've broken down the statistically relevant information from the students, and I've detailed how their experiences help us answer questions we had about the Ask a Librarian page in the first place. It did feature a nice draft I created on how the Ask a Librarian page could be modified to fit those recommendations, 2) which I thought was pretty swanky.

It may be straightforward, but it still feels like a big deal! And I think I can count this as a published report – so hellooooo, LinkedIn media addition! The full report is on DukeSpace, the university's Institutional Repository (which you may remember from my Week Eight post). Check it out here, and let me know what you think!
