In June of 2013, I left North Carolina for the University of Pittsburgh and a one month undergraduate program that connected me to other undergrads from around the country, all with a shared interest in information, technology, and grad school.
While there, myself and 20 other students were broken into research groups, each with our own academic adviser and research topic. My team, RockIT 1) decided to research the lack of Latinas working in STEM fields.
Our work included an extensive literature review, and a two part survey conducted over several months.
